Today, I was stopped in my tracks, as I heard a fabulous song that was so incredibly beautiful! It brought about many emotions and teardrops streamed down my cheek. Through the ebbs and flows of life...hopefully, we remember and realize some things. The song is called "For Good" and is performed by Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel, music by Stephen Schwartz, and piano by Bryan Perri. Not only are the words and lyrics so great, but the music and piano playing is so outstanding as well. Be sure to look it up and listen to it, as it is truly remarkable.
The song reminds me of some of the special people in my life, old friends and new, past and present, as the song says, that have left a "hand print on my heart." People do not come into our lives by accident. Perhaps, it is part of God's plan for us. Perhaps, some things are just meant to be, leaving a lasting imprint on us that shapes who we are and who we become. We somehow cross paths...and hopefully, somehow change one another for the better making a positive difference. For this, we should have such gratitude. Thank you so much to those special people.
Here are a few of the beautiful lyrics:
"I've heard it said
That people come into our lives for a reason
Bringing something we must learn
And we are led
To those who help us most to grow
If we let them
And we help them in return
Well, I don't know if I believe that's true
But I know I'm who I am today
Because I knew you
Like a comet pulled from orbit
As it passes the sun
Like a stream that meets a boulder
Halfway through the wood
Who can say if I've been changed for the better
But because I knew you
I have been changed
For good"
...(Song continues)...
"So much of me
Is made of what I've learned from you
You'll be with me
Like a hand print on my heart"
...(Song Continues)...
"I do believe I have been
Changed for the better
And because I knew you
Because I knew you
Because I knew you
I have been changed
For good."
(Performed by Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel, Music by Stephen Schwartz, Piano by Bryan Perri)
Be sure to look it up and listen to the complete beautiful song! You'll be glad you did!
Sometimes one does not realize the impact that they will have. Again, may we be filled with gratitude for all the great people that cross our path. Thank you to those that have crossed mine... -Rebecca
