Rooting For Mystik Dan at The Preakness Stakes Today at Pimlico...The Middle Jewel of The Triple Crown

It is another very exciting horse racing day in America! Today is the 149th running of the Preakness Stakes at Pimlico race course in Baltimore, Maryland. It is the pivotal second race in the Triple Crown! Pimlico dates back to 1870 and is the second oldest race course in America, right behind Saratoga in upstate New York. It is sure to be another extraordinary day in the horse racing world. The Kentucky Derby winner Mystik Dan will be running in the Preakness Stakes today on his way to capture the middle jewel of the Triple Crown. I just absolutely love that Mystik Dan has so many ties to Louisiana, as I reminisce about enjoying many racing days in that nearby state! So, of course, I am rooting for and will be cheering on Mystik Dan...just like so many others throughout the world that watched his remarkable journey in this years incredible Kentucky Derby. Good luck to Mystik Dan today! I know we all would love to see this outstanding horse win the Triple Crown! I can't help but also want Tuscan Gold to be in the top three as well! Eight fabulous horses, all male and female three year olds, will run in the 2024 Preakness that will start about 6:50 p.m. ET today on May 18th, 2024. May this glorious day be another jubilant, outstanding horse race day in America...full of great hats, great horses, and great fanfare! It will start with the singing of 'Maryland, My Maryland" the official state song. Then finally, after several great races, the big race will take place, resulting in the winner being draped in a blanket of faux Black-eyed Susans, which is Maryland's state flower. It takes four people about eight hours to create and it is actually made from daisies and not Black-eyed Susans because they do not bloom until June in Maryland. The Woodlawn vase, hailed as "the most valuable trophy in sports today", will be given to the winner of the Preakness. Finally, in keeping with great traditions, there will be the "painting of the colours," in which a painter, right after the winner has been officially announced, will climb to the top of the replica Old Clubhouse and will apply the colours of the winning team's silks....Enjoy this remarkable, phenomenal day of horse racing!

From WILD HORSE BOOTS, we are wishing for another great race day for Mystik Dan, and for his jockey, trainer, and for the Gasaway family who are the owners from Louisiana!
